Lankorganic is a Chilean enterprise located at Km 6 Huipel, in Lanco - Region de los Rios. Lankorganic began in 2017, yet is the result of seventeen years of work and experience by its directors in the fruit industry, especially in the buying and selling of native Chilean berries.
Within this context, and given the growing demand for berries on behalf of national and worldwide consumers, Lankorganic installed a freeze drying plant in the South of Chile. Here we process different locally grown species: native, endemic and introduced. Thus, we increase the diversity available in the industry of freeze dried products, both in powder and whole fruit forms.
The freeze drying process allows one to add value to different raw materials, resulting in high quality products which maintain food safety standards. Moreover, it is an environmentally friendly technology due to the fact that the only waste created throughout the process is water vapor.
WHY FREEZE DRY?
Freeze drying is a dehydration technique which uses cold temperatures to extract the water content from a food product. This is done through sublimation, meaning that the water in the food product is transformed from a solid state to a gaseous state, without going through a liquid phase.
It is a non-invasive procedure towards the food product; which does not alter and yet maintains its physical and chemical properties. The result is a product which matches the flavors, smells and appearance of the products in their natural form.
The raw materials that we process have been previously selected carefully from small and medium sized orchards and farms from the South of Chile. We maintain the physical and chemical properties of the fruit we process, granting the fruit's own characteristics, which in turn contribute to a healthy and natural diet.
